Looking back and thinking about how far we have come
When I think about 9 Dots Consulting today, I sometimes find it hard to believe how it all started.
In 2010, a small group of us decided to start something of our own. It was a big decision. We did not know where it would take us. We only knew that we wanted to build a company we could believe in. We were prepared to work hard and see where it would take us.
Our first office was our home in Singapore. Our server was there too. There were long days and plenty of uncertainty. As a small team, everyone did whatever needed to be done.
Then we were awarded our first project with Unigold International. I still remember what that meant to us. It was more than just our first project. Someone had placed their trust in us when we were still a small company finding our way.
From there, the company bagan to grow. More people joined us and we started working in other countries. We built relationships with customers and partners along the way. Some of those customers are still with us today. That means a great deal to me.
Even more than that, some of the people who were with me from day one are still here. We have been through difficult projects. We have made mistakes and learned from them. We have also shared many good moments. I am deeply grateful for their loyalty and for everything they have contributed.
As the years passed, 9 Dots has grown well beyond those early days. Today we have more than 250 people in 11 Asia-Pacific countries. We have delivered more than 300 projects across more than 20 countries.
When I look at those numbers, I see the people behind them. I think about how each person has played a part in shaping the company we have today.
In 2025, we saw another major change in our industry. AI was developing at an incredible pace. What struck me most was the excitement among the younger people in our company. They were curious about what was possible and eager to experiment. Seeing that energy reminded me that we must always be willing to learn. Technology changes and new generations bring new ideas. That is part of what keeps our company moving forward.
Sometimes I think back to that home in Singapore. I can still picture us gathered around the dining table with laptops open and papers spread out while the server hummed away nearby. We could never have imagined the journey ahead or how many people would eventually become part of it.
I am glad we took that step. Most of all, I am grateful to those who took it with me.

2010, Where it all began: Our first office in Singapore.
2014, A growing team: Four years on, the 9 Dots team had grown.
2019, Taking the next step: Our Malaysia team outgrew its first space and moved into a proper, larger office.
2019, Growing together: The team came together as the company kept growing.
2023, Across Asia-Pacific: By now our team spanned six countries in the region.
Today, One team in 11 locations: Our people are based across Asia-Pacific, from Singapore to South Korea.
